PhD thesis deposit
The Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) seeks to promote the circulation of publications and doctoral theses in electronic format, in order to make best use of their production and to promote knowledge of them.
PhD graduates are required, under the regulations of the individual faculties, to deposit a copy of their thesis in electronic format with the USI Libraries, following the procedures described below:
The final copy should be sent in PDF format, accompanied by a text file (TXT or RTF format) containing the abstracts in the different languages (maximum of three) and the key words considered appropriate for describing the thesis content.
Final copy means the copy approved by the final thesis defense committee, after having made any changes requested by the panel
For theses submitted at the Academy of Architecture, the final copy should be sent to [email protected] with a copy sent also to the Academy Library ([email protected]), accompanied by the completed Contract for the deposit, storage and electronic circulation of a PhD thesis.
The library staff will return the countersigned contract to PhD graduates. A copy of the contract, signed by both parties, will also be stored at the research coordination office.
PhD graduates can decide to deposit a print copy of their thesis at the Academy of Architecture Library. The library commits to respecting the permissions signed by PhD graduates at the time the thesis is deposited or stored, guaranteeing that the print copy will be stored, and regulating access to it.
